So today after class, I decided to wander on over to Sephora to treat myself to a new lip plumper because I’ve always had an affinity toward big juicy lips.

I’m a huge fan of Amanda Lepore, Kristina Rei, Raven Petruschin, Angelina Jolie, etc… However, my heart definitely leans more toward the modified big-fat-fake-juicy puckers.

For the most part, I’ve been using MAC Plush Glasses as my go-to glosses, but while their color selection is great, their plumping capabilities are much too mild for my tastes.

I was in the market for something with a serious tingle. I enjoyed Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme and DuWop’s Lip Venom which were both satisfactory but I’m always searching for the next best thing.

I decided to post my desire for lip-plumping action on Facebook in hopes of discovering a new product. Out of all of the options suggested, Soap & Glory’s Sexy Mother Pucker XL Extreme-Plump Collagen Lip Shine was the only product I hadn’t already heard of and also  appeared to be the best choice  due to the rave reviews I noticed on Sephora’s website.

I decided to go with the clear shade because the other two options seemed a bit opaque. I was in the market for a lip-color that would tint or enhance my lip color rather than change it.

That said, I tend to go for pale lip colors and nude shades because they  make lips look so much bigger. Unfortunately I had to go clear because the nude shade from Soap & Glory appeared way too brown. Like oddly brown. Like taking a melted Hershey’s chocolate bar and rubbing it across your lips brown.

Even though it seems I am “poo-pooing” on the gloss, it’s actually my favorite formula so far. It has great tingle, probably the strongest one I’ve noticed so far.  The consistency is typical to “extreme” lip plumpers, which is watery/wet feeling as opposed to thick and glossy (like the ones I prefer) but the formula is probably the one I most prefer.

In the end,  (out of 5)

Packaging – 1. A tube for such a thin consistency seems silly. A brush would be better.

Price – 3. Cheaper than most of it’s kind, but too expensive for the poor packaging.

Tingle – 4. (There’s gotta be something better, but this is at the top of the list at the moment).

Look – 3 . I prefer more colors and for a gloss with no thickness, a pearl shimmer would definitely add to this product.

Overall – 3 or a 3.5. While I do feel this product is above the average, I’m a stickler for packaging. I lose a lot of respect for prestige lines with drugstore packaging.
